Yoonha Kim joins the faculty of Business as an assistant professor in Management. Previously she was a visiting assistant professor at Georgetown's McDonough School of Business.
Her research interest lies in the intersection of strategic human capital and entrepreneurship. In her research, she investigates how labor market frictions manifest themselves in firms' hiring decisions and workers' occupational choice. Since these evaluations must consider the decision of individuals to start new businesses, she also examines the motivations behind entrepreneurship and patterns of small business formation across demographics and across geographies. Several of her current research studies this in the context of immigrant workers in the U.S.
Yoonha received her PhD and MS from UC Berkeley's Haas School of Business. Prior to her doctoral degree, she had worked at Morgan Stanley in New York and holds a B.Sc in Applied Math-Economics from Brown University.
