Lluís Santamaría es profesor titular de contabilidad en el Departamento de Economía de la Empresa de la Universidad Carlos III de Madrid. Lluís obtuvo su doctorado en Dirección de empresas y su licenciatura en Ciencias Económicas y Empresariales en la Universidad Autónoma de Barcelona (España). En la actualidad imparte docencia en Contabilidad Financiera y Dirección Presupuestaria.

La investigación de Lluís se centra en dos grandes campos: Gestión de la Innovación y Sistemas de Información Contables. En su investigación examina aspectos de Gobierno de la empresa, gestión de la innovación, cooperación tecnológica, así como análisis institucional comparativo. También estudia aspectos como la gestión de los intangibles y los sistemas de información contable. Sus trabajos más recientes están relacionados con el impacto de la colaboración tecnológica, el papel de las actividades innovadoras no basadas en la I+D, la gestión de RRHH en departamentos de investigación y, por otro lado, la implantación de sistemas de información ERP.

Algunos de sus trabajos más recientes son: “Service innovation in manufacturing firms: evidence from Spain” (con María Jesús Nieto y Ian Miles) en Technovation; “Public selection and financing of R&D cooperative projects: Credit versus subsidy choice” (con Andrés Barge-Gil y Aurelia Modrego) en Research Policy; “Hidden innovators: The role of non-R&D activities” (con María Jesús Nieto y Andrés Barge-Gil) en Technology Analysis & Strategic Management; “Technological collaboration: bridging the innovation gap between small and large firms” (con María Jesús Nieto) en Journal of Small Business Management; “Beyond formal R&D: Taking advantage of other sources of innovation in Low and Medium Technology Industries” (con María Jesús Nieto y Andrés Barge-Gil), en Research Policy; y “R&D managers’ adaptation of firms’ HRM practices” (con Pedro Ortín), en R&D Management.

Junto a sus tareas docentes y su investigación, Lluís lleva cabo diversas actividades de gestión. En la actualidad desempeña el cargo de Vicedecano de Ordenación Académica de la Facultad de Ciencias Sociales y Jurídicas, así como el de subdirector del Executive Master in Financial Analysis. También es el coordinador de las asignaturas “Introducción a la Contabilidad” (impartida en diversos grados) y “Dirección Presupuestaria”. Por ultimo decir que es revisor de un amplio número de revistas como Research Policy, Technovation, Journal of Management Studies, Journal of Small Business Management, Industrial and Corporate Change, Investigaciones Económicas, Revista de Economía Aplicada, European Management Journal, Industry and Innovation y Cuadernos de Economía y Dirección de Empresas.
