Professor José Miguel
Rodríguez - Pardo del Castillo, academic coordinator of the Master of
Actuarial and Financial Sciences of UC3M, has recently published an
article in the Spanish Journal of Health Economics.
In the publication number 4 of the magazine (November 2016), the article entitled: 'The economic
consequences of the underestimation of the measure of longevity',
explains how the continuous increases in life expectancy lead to
threaten the solvency of insurance companies due to imprecise measures of the risk of survival, and therefore, lack in technical reserves in the entities. It also proposes new measures that complement the biological age, to adequately capture the human aging.
