Thursdays are for actuaries DELOITTE

Last Thursday, February 13, the second of the presentations corresponding to the February cycle of "Thursdays are for actuaries" took place.

On this occasion DELOITTE was in charge of making the presentation, the main topics discussed in the talk were the areas of work of the team and the day-to-day work of the actuary in their company, as well as the career projection they can have in a consulting firm that provides auditing, consulting, tax and legal advice and transaction and restructuring advice to national and multinational organizations in the main sectors of the business network, with more than 286,000 professionals and presence in 150 countries worldwide.

The following people imparted the talk (two of whom are alumni of the master):

  • Alejandro Álvarez Mellado (Experienced Senior of the Actuarial team)
  • David Villarino (Actuarial Team Assistant)
  • Carla Salinas (Human Resources Consultant)

The speakers also transferred to students the importance of making a good Final Master Thesis.

In September of each year, actuaries who have just joined the firm must present their FMT in a training session before the entire actuarial team, this they do with a triple purpose:

- To know how to express themselves in public

- To update the actuarial team with what the University does.

- To identify business opportunities on the basis of the FMT (as they have done with that of a student who did a TFM on IFSR17 and who has gone on to business consulting)
