The professor and coordinator of the Master's degree in Actuarial and Financial Sciences of the Carlos III University of Madrid, Dr. José Miguel Rodríguez-Pardo, has been named President of the School of Thinking, Culture and Economics of Aging of the Mutualidad de la Abogacía Foundation.
The past 27 February took place the presentation of the School in charge of the president of the Mutualidad de la Abogacía and its Foundation, Enrique Sanz Fernandez-Lomana, accompanied by Dr. José Miguel Rodríguez-Pardo and Dr. Fernando Ariza as President and Coordinator of the School respectively.
The School of Thought was born with the vocation of addressing ageing as a social conquest, far from the vision that assimilates old age as a social and economic burden.
Among his words, Fernández-Lomana stressed that "the School will cover all areas of knowledge necessary to address this reality, from actuarial sciences, social sciences, economics, demography, biomedicine, psychology, ethics, philosophy, humanism or law, among others. "
For his part, the president of the School, José Miguel Rodríguez-Pardo, said that "ageing is the greatest challenge and at the same time the greatest risk for society in the 21st century", says the 2019 Barometer of Emerging Risks of the Federation French Insurance that considers it the first risk to take into consideration, "which is an indicator of the need to study the Economics of Aging," he added.
